Dr. Linebarger, has been working with psychologically traumatized individuals and their families for over 25 years. The past nine years he has been working with Marines and Sailors. In June 2013, the Navy awarded Dr. Linebarger the letter of commendation, in recognition for services rendered, ‘Contractor of the Quarter’.
He reported psychological trauma does not go away. The memories remain with you. Memories do change when you address them head on, face the facts, grieve the losses, reprocess the memories, allow your mind to heal and redefine your life.
The methods of treatment include ‘Cognitive Behavioral Therapy’, ‘Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing’ (EMDR) and ‘Mindfulness’. Dr. Linebarger was trained in EMDR in 1992. He became an EMDR Institute facilitator in 1994, a consultant in 2000, University EMDR trainer in 2008 and joined the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program.
The goal is to establish healthy self-acceptance and acceptance of one another.
