Joseph Akronowitz, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of California. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison New Jersey. His MSW is from San Diego State University in 1992. He worked as a counselor for the Navy and with veterans for over 10 years. He has supervised up to 12 interns training to be therapists.
Some areas with greater experience include working with adults molested as children (AMAC), grief counseling and panic disorders.
Joseph Akronowitz LCSW has had success working with anxiety, compulsive disorders and depression using Cognitive behavioral therapy, with emphasis on short term counseling that puts the power in hands of the client.
Joe is practical, patient and results oriented therapist that encourages his clients to overcome their challenges to succeed using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as other techniques such as biofeedback. He has the patience to help clients deal with prolonged disease or movement toward passing on. He helps his clients work towards developing self assurance and solution oriented approach in a nonjudgmental atmosphere promoting dignity and respect.
