I am originally from New England, attended Eastern Connecticut State University for my BSW and BS in Sociology with a minor in psychology and attended Fordham University in New York City for graduate school, receiving my MSW focusing on clinical social work. I am also a member of the professional organization, NASW.
Post grad school, I began working in a hospital focusing on various issues including complex trauma, chronic medical issues, PTSD, LBGTQ, terminal illness, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and severe mental health. Outside of private practice, I work in palliative care at a hospital. Palliative care works with a wide variety of patients, at any age and any stage of life, working with patients who have chronic, debilitating, and terminal issues with the focus of relieving symptoms and maintaining the best quality of life possible.
The core of my therapeutic work is mainly strengths based and client centered therapy, however I tend to not use a specific model of therapy, as every client is unique, and rather I prefer to individualize each treatment based on patient needs. I also, however, utilize CBT, psychodynamic theory, and family focused family when needed.
I am a licensed clinical social worker, LCSW #80851 and I look forward to working with you!
