During the past 10 years, I have been in multiple rolls in the mental health field, with extensive training, certifications and exposure to a variety of demographics. Most of my training and work has been with low-income individuals and families, as well as those who suffer from various mental health issues including, but not limited to, depression, grief and loss, PTSD, and substance abuse. I am culturally sensitive and always conduct myself with consideration to racial and ethnic diversity, as well as diversity in spirituality, sexual orientation, disabilities, and economic status.
I have the ability to assess all relevant factors potentially contributing to the client’s functioning in day-to-day life, while managing their diagnosis through treatment. In addition to my background in individual and group counseling, my strong ability to develop relationships with community partners has proven to be a great asset within the organizational structure of my previous positions.
My role as a social worker has enabled me to develop a great understanding of client needs and care requirements in many aspects of client services. Furthermore, my extensive experience working in the health field has enabled me to acquire sound assessment, guidance and referrals for clients and their families which has inevitability contributed to my success as a client centered professional in this field.
My approach to care is based on the belief that individuals experiencing mental health issues can achieve recovery when they are given the guidance they need to draw on their strengths and realize their potential to live their best life. I provide clients with a comfortable environment that encourages self-expression in a judgement-free setting. I utilize a variety of treatment techniques to tailor to the individual needs of each of my clients. I believe that compassion and continued support is essential in overcoming personal obstacles and moving forward to self-realization and independence.
